The Welding Institute is governed by a Council on which Professional Members are represented. 

The Professional Board is a delegated board of Council and oversees all matters concerning Members of the Institute and registration with the Engineering Council. 

All members of Institute are encouraged to participate in its activities, and to contribute voluntarily to the development of the Institute via participation on its Professional Board, delegated committees and participating in its events and activities.
