Joining The Welding Institute as a Member provides an opportunity to gain Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Engineering Council.
You must have at least two years’ experience in a welding, joining or other relevant discipline, and be working in a role that meets the requirements for Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
You will also need at least one of the following qualifications: |
Hold a bachelors degree in engineering or a relevant science or technology. | Already be registered with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer via another professional institution. |
If you do not hold any of the qualifications listed above, you could still be eligible for Member via our Individual Route. For Individual Route applicants it would be desirable to have accumulated around four to five years of industry experience at the appropriate level. The Welding Institute will provide detailed advice based on your individual circumstances once we have looked at your education and career history.
