Overview  The speaker will outline some of the fabrication challenges associated with energy production and introduce participants to some of the more recent developments in this sector.

Speaker: Mr Christopher Punshon CEng FWeldI 

Speaker Biography: Chris is a Fellow of The Welding Institute and Industry Sector Manager for Power and New Energy at TWI. Chris graduated with an Honours degree in Metallurgy from Sheffield University and over the years has developed his expertise in the field of power beam (EB) welding and application. Most recently he has focused on business development in the Decarbonisation of Power production and the Energy transition including  Wind, Geothermal power, Nuclear power plant, waste and decommissioning, Fusion development and Next Generation nuclear power plant sectors. Although based in the Electron Beam group for many years Chris has worked on a wide range of power generation projects and developed business and strong relationships with key clients in related industries and academic institutions.
