The Welding Institute invites all our UK Members to join us for this talk as part of National Apprenticeship Week. This talk is part of a series of tea time talks covering technical topics, personal experiences and hopes for the future.

Overview: In this talk, TWI corrosion technician, Catherine Leahy, speaks about her current role working on corrosion testing at TWI and her apprenticeship journey so far.... 

Speaker: Catherine Leahy AWeldI

Speaker Biography: Welding Institute Associate Member and TWI Corrosion Technician Catherine Leahy (AWeldI), has accomplished multiple professional milestones at an early stage of her career. In 2019 she was named as one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering by the Women’s Engineering Society and was awarded the Armourers and Brasiers STEM Ambassador Award in 2020 by The Welding Institute. She has also recently taken on the role of Chair of The Welding Institute's Younger Members' Committee (YMC), where she works to support the next generation of engineers. In addition to achieving these impressive accolades, she is also currently working to complete her BEng degree in Applied Engineering with the University of Warwick as a higher degree apprentice.
