This is a Member only event, specifically for members of the London and Kent branches of The Welding Institute. Other members may be able to attend should spaces become available.

Overview: An expert in his field, Jan will outline the challenges and science behind the metallurgy of aluminium welding. The lecture will pick out and identify each of the properties of aluminium and explain how they practically affect the welding of aluminium and differences in welding to that of steel. Virtually all welding processes are considered  from fusion through pressure to diffusion

Speaker: Jan Lukaszewski BSc. MBA. C.Eng. FIET. CQP. FCQI (Technical Manager, ALFED)

Speaker Biography: Jan Lukaszewski is Technical Manager for the Aluminium Federation (ALFED).Jan has a distinguished background in metallurgy, through a successful and varied career in delivering technology into industrial applications, ranging from manufacturing to capital projects. His extensive networks in business, academia and government are supportive to his role as an advocate for the Aluminium Sector.

Today, Jan is focussed on lending his energy and expertise, to fostering research, innovation, best practice, skills and competitiveness for the Members of ALFED.
