This is a Member only event, specifically for members of the Northumbrian and Teesside branches of The Welding Institute. Other members may be able to attend should spaces become available.
Overview: In the US, new regulations requiring pipeline operators to re-establish records for material properties and attributes have sparked a wave of developments in the industry. ROSEN introduced an In-Line Inspection tool that determines Yield Strength & UTS and groups pipes into ‘populations’ with equivalent properties. Techniques have been developed to measure yield strength non-destructively in the field. Different seam weld types can also be differentiated through In-Line Inspection and in-field testing. This event will explore the various new technologies and processes, and will discuss how the UK industry can benefit from these developments.
Speaker: Ollie Burkinshaw (Senior Engineer, ROSEN)
Speaker Biography: Ollie Burkinshaw is a Senior Materials Engineer with ROSEN Integrity Solutions, where he has worked primarily on developing processes and delivering projects to verify pipeline material properties through In-Line Inspection, non-destructive and destructive testing. Before joining ROSEN he worked as a Materials Engineer at GE Oil & Gas and Wood Group. Ollie holds a Master's and Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge
