Overview: The presentation will explore the technical and commercial difficulties in bringing a novel inspection system to the market and the process of getting such a system approved for inspections of in-service plant.
Speaker: Peter Mudge (Former Technical Director, Plant Integrity Ltd)
Speaker Biography: Peter Mudge has been involved in R&D for Non-Destructive Testing at TWI in Cambridge UK for more than 42 years. In recent years he concentrated on the development of large area search techniques using low frequency ultrasonics and was Technical Director of Plant Integrity Ltd (Pi) from 1997 to 2019. Pi’s business was development of instrumentation and service inspection using guided wave techniques for pipelines and other constructions. He is a Chartered Engineer and an Honorary Fellow and past-President of the British Institute of NDT. He was awarded the Leslie Lidstone/ESAB gold medal by The Welding Institute in 1989 for services to welding technology
