This is an Eastern Counties Branch event organised and hosted by the Eastern Counties Branch Committee on behalf of Branch members. Other members are very welcome to register for this talk. Non-Members are also welcome to join us.

Overview: Refractory Metals are a class of metals with melting points above that of Platinum 1772°C. In this talk you will learn about the lesser known refractory metals, their history, where they come from, their properties and what they are used for.

Speaker Biography: David Rowe is a Fellow of The Welding Institute and Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. David is also Branch Treasurer for Eastern Counties Branch and a Professional Volunteer with the Institute.
