Speaker: Peter Lyons (Managing Director, The Welding Centre)

Speaker Biography:Peter is European Quality and Welding engineer. He has worked around the world on some of the most ambitious engineering projects covering upstream, midstream and downstream in oil and gas and Renewable Energy.

Peter has worked as a Lecturer at TWI Training, worked in roles from Site inspector, Supply chain Auditor and Project Equipment Expeditor, Project Quality lead to Construction & Inspection Group Manager at one of the worlds Largest EPC Contractors.

He holds an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, ISO9001 lead auditor qualification, Multiple Inspection qualifications in Welding, Plant inspection, NDT as well as Painting and coating qualifications. He is Currently an Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered with TWI, a European and International Welding Engineer and currently studying towards an MSc in Welding Engineering at Cranfield University

During his time working with fabricators around the UK, Peter noticed a significant lacking in the market for Welding Engineering support making expertise available and affordable with ad hoc consultancy. The Welding Development Centre was born and is a NECIT Company, created to support companies in the UK with Welding Engineering consultancy support, Welder training and Testing. 

Peter Is the founder and Director at NECIT.
