Australian Branch – Technical Talk

This is an Australian Members event organised by the Australian Members Working Group on behalf of Professional members in Australia. All members based in Australia are invited to join our meeting and technical talk. 

Overview: Robotics and automation is a key focus to help alleviate the labour shortages across the welding industry. The introduction of new complex technologies comes with its own challenges and considerations. Understanding the obstacles can lead to a smoother production ramp-up and greater confidence on product quality. 

The Speaker: Ashley Bell, (Manufacturing Engineering Manager, BAE Systems Australia Maritime)

Speaker Biography: Ashley is a Materials and Welding Engineer with over 20 years industry experience across the Oil and Gas, Defence and Mining sectors. Deployment of manufacturing technologies has been a key career focus. More specifically gaining practical hands on experience in the deployment, qualification and certification of technologies to achieve demanding welding requirements. 

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Attending this event supports your professional development.  You can claim 2 CPD points per hour for this event.  As a member of the Welding Institute you can record your CPD activity online from your membership portal.
