London Branch Technical Talk

This is a London Branch event organised and run by our London  Branch for  members of the London and Kent Branches. Other members and non-members are welcome to join us.

Overview:- The consequences of even low concentrations of hydrogen sulphide in the working environment of metallic materials are well documented. What is possibly less well-known is the effect of the presence of hydrogen sulphide on fatigue properties and on the fracture properties of metallic materials and notably steels and their weldments. This talk will address those issues.

Speaker:- Olivier Ravier of Element Materials Technology

Speaker Biography:- Olivier Ravier is a materials testing specialist specialising in fatigue and fracture testing, including the design and commissioning of complex instrumented test rigs. He has a BSc in Applied Chemistry and an MSc in Materials Characterisation and Modelling. He has over 17 years experience working in ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratories.
