Australian Network – Technical Talk

This is an Australian Members event organised by the Australian Members Working Group on behalf of professional members in Australia. All members based in Australia are invited to join our meeting and technical talk. 

Overview: This presentation will cover Type IV cracking of welds in creep resisting low alloy steels. The cracking mechanism and inspection methods will be discussed, and the presentation will include a case study of a major through wall crack that occurred in a high energy piping system. 

Speaker: Darrell Cruickshank – Principal Engineer, AGL Energy

Speaker Biography: Darrell has been employed in technical and management roles in the thermal power generation industry for over 20 years. He is involved in all aspects of power plant engineering including upgrades, inspection and repairs to turbines, boilers and high energy piping systems. He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of TWI.
