London Branch Technical Talk

This is a London Branch event organised and run by our London  Branch for  members of the London and Kent Branches. Other members and non-members are welcome to join us.

Overview:- This lecture will provide awareness of the properties of, and risks and hazards surrounding industrial compressed gases supplied in cylinders. It presents information from The British Compressed Gas Association (BCGA) Codes of Practice and Guidance Notes. It outlines the sources of information and the user training which is available. It provides guidance on who should be trained and what training should be provided and deals with issues in the use of oxy-fuel systems and the hazard of flashback, cylinders in fires, and selection of equipment.

Speaker:-  Chris Holland

       (Industrial Compressed Gas Training and Process Safety Support Services)

Speaker Biography:- Chris Holland has many years of experience with BOC, and ESAB Group companies working in welding and compressed gases in sales and training roles.

Chris has developed and delivered training to company and customer staff including to Network Rail and NR’s subcontractors. As an independent consultant he is currently working with both BOC and Network Rail delivering training programmes and inspection services.

Chris is an Associate member of BCGA and serves on committee TSC3 and also BSI WEE 18 developing Guidance Notes and Codes of Practices. He is a Professional Member of TWI and is a Qualified Trainer, Assessor, and Verifier.
