This is a London Branch event organised and run by our London Branch for members of the London and Kent Branches. Other members and non-members are welcome to join us.
Overview:- The talk will provide a brief overview on the manufacture of arc welding consumables (solid wires, flux cored wires and MMA electrodes). This will be followed with an insight into the factors that are important in the design of consumables for three distinct types of stainless steel: stainless steels for cryogenic service, superduplex stainless steels and high carbon stainless steels. These three alloy groups cover a wide range of industrial sectors but respectively mainly: LNG, offshore and petrochemical.
Speaker:- EUR ING Graham Holloway CEng SenMWeldI (Technical Director, I A Barnes and Co Ltd)
Speaker Biography:- Graham has been involved with arc welding consumable technical support, production, design and sales for over thirty years. For nearly twenty years with Metrode Products who manufactured MMA electrodes and flux cored wires for an extensive range of alloys: for example CrMo, austenitic stainless steels, duplex & superduplex stainless steels, high temperature alloys and nickel base alloys. For the past ten years with I A Barnes & Co Ltd (IABCO) who are a specialist wholesaler, predominantly for solid arc welding wires, again covering specialist alloys in the ferrous, nickel base, copper and aluminium alloy groups.
