Technical Group Webinar

JOIN OUR MATERIALS TECHNICAL GROUP (TG3)

This is an opportunity to benefit from sharing knowledge and experience of the use of high strength structural steels, and experience modern systems of welding data collection and monitoring at the ESAB Process Centre in Haydock, St Helens.

Presentations on high strength steels (HSS) will be about their manufacture, properties and weldability, the development of ultra-high strength filler metals, case studies covering issues in the use of HSS and examples of their application. We will see the ESAB Process Centre and see state-of-the-art welding equipment systems and learn about advances in weld monitoring and control software.

Who should attend?

Welding engineers, production personnel, inspection and QC personnel, welding metallurgists working in the structural, offshore, and process industries. The event will also be of interest to engineering students, welding technicians and industrial project personnel.

This event is limited to a maximum of 40 attendees so early registration is essential.

Accommodation is available locally and should be booked by the attendee:

  • Mercure Haydock, WA11 9SG, is a 5 minute walk
  • Holiday Inn, Haydock, WA12 0JG, is less than a mile away

How to get there?

MEET OUR EXPERTS

ALAN DENNEY

Centreline Segregation Cracking

Alan Denney is a metallurgist and welding engineer with 50 years experience in the structural, offshore, process and pipeline industries. He has performed a number of failure investigations into failures in building structures, process plant and pipelines and one failure prompted him examining centreline cracking and its occurrence in general.

HUGO COSTA

WeldCloud Traceability

Hugo has been an International Welding Specialist since 2007 as well as working in the welding industry for over 20 years.

DR. VAHID HOSSEINI

ESAB

Vahid Hosseini is welding metallurgy specialist with doctoral degree in welding and processing of steels. He worked as assistant professor of welding at University West, Sweden. He has joined ESAB since 2021, now leading research activities in the Research Team. The team works on different areas related to welding filler metal design and fabrication, welding performance and arc physics.

TOM COSGROVE

Sandberg LLP

Tom Cosgrove, a Fellow of The Institution of Structural Engineers and a Welding Engineer, has a wealth of experience in steel construction. Tom has worked for steelwork contractors in Belgium, Britain and Ireland, plus The Steel Construction Institute (SCI) in Ascot and The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) in Whitehall.

Tom is currently employed as a Consultant ay Sandberg LLP with a focus on all aspects of Fabrication and Welding.
