Technical Group Webinar

JOIN OUR OFFSHORE ENERGY/PRESSURE AND PROCESS PLANT TECHNICAL GROUPS (TG4/TG5) WEBINAR

Who should attend?

Integrity management, inspection and plant operations personnel interested in how different industrial sectors manage their approach to inspection, maintenance and engineering assessment in late life and life extension phases.

Relevant Industry sectors

Cross industry within the power sector (oil and gas, renewables, nuclear) -  integrity and inspection

What will you learn?

This event is intended to highlight and compare the way in which different industry sectors approach the management of inspection and integrity as the plant they are operating enters the late life phase and possibly beyond original design life.

Integrity management strategies operate under differing legislative regimes and constraints, as well as operational and financial.

The modification, or otherwise, of asset integrity management and maintenance strategies as plant ages and demonstrations of continuing fitness-for-service that may be required will be described for a range of industries.

Experts from industry will be presenting on a range of topics:

  • Matthew Henderson, Technical Asset Manager - Substructure and Asset Lifecycle, SSE Renewables on Integrity management within SSE’s offshore wind portfolio, and planning for life extension.
  • Professor John Wintle, TWI Ltd on Development of Methodology for Inspection for the Management of Ageing Assets
  • Philip Enegela - INEOS on Integrity management strategies for late-life operations and asset life extension - unlocking value from inspection and monitoring data

  • TBC

Please note that this event will be recorded.

MEET OUR EXPERTS

Matthew Henderson

SSE Renewables

Integrity management within SSE’s offshore wind portfolio, and planning for life extension

Matthew Henderson is the Technical Asset Manager – Substructure & Asset Lifecycle for SSE Renewables. Having worked for SSE for 6.5 years and as a contractor to their sites for 5 years previously, Matt can provide a backdrop for some of the challenges within older offshore wind farms, growing pains as they’ve expanded in size and how an operator prepares for life extension.

John Wintle

TWI Ltd

Development of Methodology for Inspection for the Management of Ageing Assets

Professor John Wintle is a mechanical engineer and a recognised international authority on the life management and inspection of ageing assets as they approach and enter the life extension phase. He has worked extensively for the HSE and the Energy Institute providing guidance for the nuclear, offshore oil and gas and other high hazard industry sectors where the potential hazards are high and the consequences of failure are severe.

Philip Enegela

INEOS

Integrity management strategies for late-life operations and asset life extension - unlocking value from inspection and monitoring data

Philip’s experience covers inspection, corrosion prevention and mitigation, and integrity management of offshore and onshore assets. He has extensive experience covering fixed and floating assets, pipelines, onshore terminals and petrochemical plants. He has also developed life extension philosophies for different assets over the course of his career. Philip has led life extension projects on assets in the North Sea and on onshore terminals, power plants and petrochemical facilities. He is a Fellow of two professional institutions (Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining and Institute of Corrosion), and an AMPP certified Corrosion Specialist.
