Overview:- In September 2022, Ocenenginnering were contacted by a major operator because of a fire on board one of their FPSOs in West Africa. The accident damaged around 50m of Umbilical which required repair. Oceaneering have worked for 14 months in 4 different phases:-
In order to carry out ph 4, there were specific weld procedures to be qualified. This was a challenge in itself for the steel tube had been exposed to chemicals for more than 15 years and nobody could ascertain the level of contamination after this prolonged exposure. The repairs were completed in November 2023, 4 days earlier than anticipated.

Speaker Biography:- Giuseppe as Global Account Director in Oceaneering is responsible to support worldwide a major operator for the provision of all Oceaneering services and technologies, to name few: ROV, Vessels, Well Interventions, Remote Services, Inspections and maintenance services, Pipeline Repair Systems, Distribution Systems and Grayloc® Clamp connectors. With more than 20 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, he had covered different leading roles from Project Management to Commercial. Giuseppe is a Chartered Engineer, member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He holds a MEng in Polymeric Science and a BEng in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of Palermo (Italy).
