This is an East Midlands Branch event organised and run by our East Midlands for its members. Other members and non-members are welcome to join us.


Overview: DB ESG’s Digital Engineering team use 3D Scanning and 3D printing as part of their projects. This presentation will look at DB ESG’s journey in using these technologies (having started using them in 2018, how they are used, and what benefits can be gained from them – as well as explaining how they work


Speaker: Nathan Russell, Digital Engineering Manager, DB ESG

Speaker Biography: As Digital Engineering Manager at DB ESG, Nathan leads the team which deals with 3D Scanning, 3D Printing and FEA. Prior to this Nathan was a structural engineer and has 10 years experience in the rail industry. In this time he has been part of many projects, from using FEA to assess significant modifications to rolling stock, to being part of the team which designed the first 3D printed parts to be installed on a passenger service train in the UK.
