What will the event cover?
This session offers a learning opportunity to explore key considerations in offshore pipeline installation, focusing on productivity and the critical role of field joint coatings in protecting welded joints from corrosion.
Laying an offshore pipeline involves welding pipes together and applying a field joint coating to protect against corrosion. The efficiency and cost of offshore operations are influenced by the cycle times of welding, inspection, and coating processes.
John Thomson has worked for Winn & Coales for nearly 15 years. A mechanical engineer, John has been involved in both commercial and technical operations with the company. John oversees the technical and commercial aspects of the systems the companies supplies for marine and major pipeline projects.
In this presentation, John will discuss an offshore pipeline project that implemented an innovative field joint coating system. John will outline the system’s key features, along with its technical and productivity achievements.
Industry Best Practices – Understand how to optimise welding, inspection, and coating processes
Networking Opportunities – Connect with professionals in the offshore pipeline sector
