Who should attend? 

Structural steelwork managers at all levels, especially site erection managers/supervisors, steelwork designers, civil engineers, structural engineers. Aimed at all structural steelwork, including wind generation, offshore structures industry sectors.

What will you learn? 

Attendees will gain a knowledge of some of the pitfalls using structural fasteners and how to avoid them. They will gain an insight into some of the options available for fasteners and non-conventional bolting systems.

    MEET THE SPEAKERS:

    Dr David Moore

    Specification, Installation and Inspection of Structural Bolts

    David is a Structural Engineer and Deputy CEO of the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) responsible for helping to set the strategic direction of BCSA and managing the BCSA group of companies. His previous roles at BCSA included the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Engineer.

    David is also responsible for raising the standards of members and of the steel construction sector. He represents BCSA and the UK and Republic of Ireland constructional steelwork sectors, ensuing reputational growth and influence at individual, industry and government levels. David’s areas of expertise are UKCA and CE Marking, Connection Design, design and execution of standards and fire engineering.

    Standards for Bolt Manufacture

    As the Chief Technical Officer of the Cooper Turner Beck Group, who are one of the foremost manufactures of safety critical fasteners. David has developed an extensive knowledge of fastener manufacturing techniques, operational excellence and product standards which has enabled him to become the Chair of the BSI standards committee FME9 and represent the UK on European and international committees.
