MEET THE SPEAKERS:
Robert Shaw
As one of TWI's arc-focused Welding Engineers, Rob has spent more than a decade developing, qualifying, and implementing welding processes and procedures for a range of companies in the nuclear, aerospace and defence industries.
A metallurgist by training, Rob has maintained an interest in the welding of more uncommon metals, including working with copper, titanium, and nickel alloys. This has included work on the production of new turbine blade alloys, and the complex safe end transition joints for nuclear power plants, as well as the more common steels for oil and gas or pressure vessel applications.
Michael Bell
Michael Bell has 12 years of experience perfecting sample methods for PhD students and training at the University of Sheffield and now is the Applications Specialist at Struers Ltd, where he brings his expertise to develop perfect preparation methods for Struers customers.
