Eastern Counties Branch AGM and Technical Talk

This is an Eastern Counties Branch event organised and hosted by the Branch Committee on behalf of Branch members. Other Members and non-members are also welcome to join us.

Overview: The Annual General meeting (AGM) is an opportunity for Branch members to hear reports from the Committee on the achievements and work of the Branch over the year; to make plans for the year ahead; to review the accounts and to elect the Committee for the next year.

For 2025 the Branch will be holding a mixture of in-person and Zoom meetings. These are a great way of widening your technical knowledge, maintaining your essential CPD and interacting with a wide range of professionals in the welding industry. The committee is keen to welcome all Members to our meetings so that you can make the most of your membership.

Speaker: Phil Stittle (Director of Business Development at West Suffolk College)

Speaker Biography: Phil is passonate about helping people and businesses in all aspects of day to day working life. Phil started his career as an apprentie leaving school at 16, completing his last GCSE exam n Friday and starting work the following Monday! With ver 20 years experience in the further education sector, Phil has seen many changes but also observes that many of the challenges an oportunites remain the same.

This years AGM will be a hybrid meeting held in person at 6:30pm at The Active Business Centre in Bury St Edmunds and on Zoom. The AGM will be followed by the talk. Refreshments will be available from 6pm

Please note, only Branch Members can vote at the AGM.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Attending this event supports your professional development.  You can claim 2 CPD points per hour for this event.  As a member of the Welding Institute you can record your CPD activity online from your membership portal.
