Skills Competitions

The Welding Institute  supports a number of skills competitions across the UK and Europe.  These competitions are aimed at young welders/fabricators at the early stages of their career.  Participation in competitions offers the opportunity to develop competitors technical, communication and networking skills.  Previous competitors have gone on to compete further in Euroskills, Worldskills and other highly recognised competitions and won medals on a global stage.  Many competitors have also found the competitions beneficial to their career development and employers find the competition beneficial to the development of staff as well their public recognition of their company.

Competitions the Institute is involved in are:

  • Skillweld
  • Construction Metalwork
  • WorldSkills Welding and Construction Metalwork
