North Scottish Branch Technical Talk

This is a joint event organised by our North Scottish Branch and the Institute of Corrosion. Members of both organisations and non-members are very welcome to join us.

Overview:- This talk will discuss the requirements for material selection, welding, and metallurgy of carbon steels for gaseous hydrogen service.

It will outline the mechanisms and effects of gaseous hydrogen embrittlement, present current code requirements in terms of material properties including welding and give an overview of recent research and code developments

    Speaker:-  Neil Gallon. Eur.Ing. MA CEng FIMMM IWE/EWE

    Speaker Biography:- Neil Gallon is a Principal Engineer with the ROSEN UK Group. Having previously worked for various consulting and manufacturing companies, including British Steel / Tata Steel and GE Wellstream. Neil's current work concentrates on understanding the effects of gaseous hydrogen on steel properties.
